About Me:
Ms. Bishop received her BA in Theatre from the University of New Orleans and her M.Ed. from DePaul University of Chicago. She is a native of Birmingham and a graduate of the Alabama School of Fine Arts (’91 Theatre Arts).

In New Orleans, Ashley worked as an actor, set designer and scenic artist for Le Petite Theatre de Vieux Carre, Southern Repertory Theatre, Jefferson Performing Arts Center and others. It was at Le Petite that she met The Free Associates, a long-form improv group from Chicago, and decided to pack her bags and move north.

In Chicago, she worked in print, industrials and commercials, as well as continuing her stage work with companies including 16th Street Theatre, The Aardvark, American Theatre Company, Chicago Dramatists, Circle Theatre, Defiant, Footsteps, Northlight, and as an Artistic Associate with American Blues Theatre. She worked as a teaching artist with Timeline Theatre, American Theatre Company and Route 66 Theatre, which inspired her to return to school for her teaching certificate.

Ms. Bishop enjoys gardening, medieval swordsmanship, historical fiction and baking bread.
