I am a native of Birmingham, AL. I received a B.S. in Social Sciences, a M.Ed. in English as a Second Language, and an Ed.S. in Teacher Leadership all from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Prior to coming to Shades Valley, I taught history in Baldwin County and Shelby County as well as ESL at Samford University. I have been a teacher for seven years. In addition, I have the privilege of being a guest speaker and writer on educational topics pertaining to ESL children in the foster and adoption communities.
I am passionate about working with students and helping each child reach their full potential. I love history and inspiring young minds to think independently. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my five children and serving others in the community through my organization 25:35.
