GIG: Giving Is Good
Deadline to Apply: Wednesday, May 3, 2017
You may have heard of GIG before when it was a summer volunteer program with United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Birmingham. Well, it is still the same fun program working with children and adults with disabilities, but the organization's name has been changed to United Ability to better encompass the diversity of disabilities addressed through their programs and services.
This opportunity is for teens 13-18 years old (entering 8th - 12th grades) who can volunteer a minimum of 32 hours between June 5 and July 28. Chosen volunteers work mostly in one of the classrooms in the Hand in Hand Early Learning Program, a day program for children with and without disabilities, ages 1- 5 years old. They are limited to 70 spots, so they are looking for great applicants.
For a FAQ and application, go to https://www.unitedability.org/about/volunteer/. Look in the GIG section located at the bottom.
