Future Problem Solvers

Future Problem Solving teams have been working hard all year. Below are the results for the 3 problems that lead to State Bowl and the State Bowl results.

We congratulate four of the Future Problem Solving teams for their work on problem one that focused on the impact of social media! In the senior division, the team of Hannah Snyder, Enrique Borjas, Avery Rollins, Maddie Hall; and the team of Katalyn Clark, Summer Johnson, Sarah Kisling and Jeffrey Simmons both placed 3rd in the state. In addition, the team of Ethan Kinnaird, Ebonie Williams, Stephanie Swindal, Delanya Storey, and the team of Caleb Gentry, Ben Mostafavi, Nickolas Herrera, and Divya Desai both placed 2nd in the state!

We also are proud of all six of our teams for their work on problem two which focused on processed food. In the middle division, the team of Matt Browning, Caitlin Crane, Alayna Priebe, and Will Levant placed 3rd in the state. In the senior division, the team of Hannah Snyder, Enrique Borjas, Avery Rollins,Maddie Halland the team of Ethan Kinnaird, Ebonie Williams, Delanya Storey, Marie Harris, and Leah Goggins placed 3rd in the state. Three other senior division teams including Caleb Gentry, Ben Mostafavi, Sergio Herrera, Madison Strawn; James Browning, Cole Crownhart, Alexis Baldwin, Peyton Gasink; Katalynn Clark, Summer Johnson, Sarah Kisling and Jeffrey Simmons all placed 2nd in the state within their respective groups. Great job for all the FPS members!!

For their last problem focusing on propapganda,the Future Problem Solvers did a great job! The team of James Browning, Cole Crownhart, Alexis Baldwin and Peyton Gasink ranked 4th in the state in the senior division. Two senior division teams both ranked third in the state. These team members are Hannah Snyder, Enrique Borjas, Avery Rollins, Maddie Hall and Ethan Kinnaird, Delanya Storey, Marie Harris, and Leah Goggins. In the middle division the team of Matt Browning, Alayna Priebe, Will Levant and Kanely Lemke also ranked 3rd in the state. Finally two senior division teams placed 2nd. These members are Caleb Gentry, Ben Mostafavi, Nick Herrera, Madison Strawn, and Katalynn Clark, Summer Johnson, Sarah Kisling and Jeffrey Simmons. The 2nd place teams will be competing at Auburn in Montgomery for the State Bowl, March 20-21.

On March 20-21 two of the FPS teams traveled to the state bowl to compete. Both teams were invited because of their high scores on problem 3. Sincethe state organization had moved the venue from AUM to Phenix City, the travel time was much longer. However both teams competed well. The team of Nick Herreras ,Ben Mostafavi, Madison Strawn and Caleb Gentry placed 3rd in problem solving of the senior division of the state. This team along with Alexis Baldwin and Marian Mwenja placed 1st in the senior division for the presentation of their action plan. The team of Jeffrey Simmons, Kaytalynn Clark, Sarah Kisling, and Summer Johnson placed 2nd in the problem solving of the senior division of the state and 3rd in the presentation of their action plan. Great job everybody!
